In many cases all that is needed for tools is a combination 7/8" wrench. Unplug the sensor from the vehicle harness then snip the wires off at the old sensor. Now you can slip the box end of the 7/8" wrench over the sensor and turn it out CCW. Use the open end of the 7/8" wrench to install the sensor. Tighen as you would a spark plug. No need to over tighten it.
There are two o2 sensors one before the converter and one after. There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) on the vibe o2 sensor. Depending on your milage your car may be covered. The heated sensor (sensor 1) is on the exhaust behind the engine. Trouble codes would be P0171 and P2195 for the TSB/recall.
To change an O2 sensor you need to disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Use an O2 sensor socket and ratchet set to remove the old sensor and replace with the new one.
