First I removed the oil filter and drained the radiator fluid. Unplugged the oil sending unit. Removed the radiator reservoir and moved the power distribution box to gain easier access to the 3 upper bolts. Removed the radiator hose from the assembly.
Slid assembly out and scraped off remaining gasket and installed in reverse order. Its not the easiest thing in the world to change. Good Luck
Replace the gasket with a new one.
Unless the housing is damaged, there is no reason to replace it. Just replace the gasket.
You have to drain the radiator, water goes to it, and remove the bolts, and remove the housing, a pain but take your time.
The housing gasket may be bad. Replace the gasket.
When you replace your oil filter it come with a new gasket. Just make sure when you remove / replace the old oil filter the oil gasket comes out with it.
If it is where the filter meets up to the mount there actually is a gasket there. If it past the mount you may need to replace the filter housing.
The oil filter gasket is built into the filter itself, so just by changing the filter, you always get the new gasket.
Remove the housing and replace the gasket.
Gasket should be included with new oil filter
To change the gasket remove the oil filter. There will be 2 bolts holding the adapter to the block, remove them push the adapter off. Clean both surfaces apply gasket seal to gasket. Put the bolts thru the holes and apply gasket to adapter. Start the bolts into engine block and tighten evenly. Put on a new oil filter making sure the filter rubber gasket has a coating of oil.
Replace the thermostat housing seal or gasket.
There's a plastic guard on the underside of the car that must be removed so that you can get to the oil filter and drain plug. The filter itself is a canister filter, so you replace the paper filter and the rubber gasket, but reuse the plastic housing.
