you need radio tools,i found mine at Walmart, they look like a big u,they come two to a pack, insert tools in holes beside radio, spread slightly toward outside with thumbs while pulling.
I was able to do this on my 1995 model by cutting a wire clothes hanger and making two u-shaped horseshoe looking hooks. You can insert these into the holes on each side of the radio releasing the latches and you can ease the radio out.
I used the tool, pushed it in, but the radio didn't come out. What am I doing wrong?

If your radio is the cd/tape combo, or if it has an RDS button, just press it a couple times to cycle until it tells you to set hours/minutes, then use the select arrow to change the time

Sounds like receiver ok, check the speakers/fuses.
not completely sure yet, trying now....possibly need to get a puller from parts store and put wires in 4 holes in the front of radio and pull once they clip into place.....otherwise may be able to push it out from the back once ashtray is removed....wire harness is easily removed from back of radio once the radio is out....good luck :)
Tie wraps can be used to replace a stock radio wiring harness in a 1991 Mercury Tracer. The wires can be replaced with other radio wire from an automotive parts store and the tie wrap can hold them together.

Mercury Radio Arts's population is 120.
Mercury Radio Arts was created in 2011.
On my 95 Grand Marquis I had to pry off the woodgrain panels beneath the trim ring (I am assuming you are talking about the one surrounding the gauge cluster and radio) There were 5 7mm screws under them and 2 more at the top of the gauge cluster. Good Luck!
if the clock is not displaying that is light bulb you can buy on eBay or at a gm dealer.
Go down to the parts store or Wal-Mart and buy a radio puller. It is two horse shoe shaped wires with little notches on the ends. You put the pullers into the holes in the face of the radio. There should be two on the right and two on the left, above and below each other. Push them in until they lock in and then just pull out. You may have to spread the pullers toward the outside to get a good bite on the radio. Then, you just pull out and the radio slides out. Then unplug the wires from the back.
