Step by Step
1. Jack the car up and remove the tire
2. With the tire removed...loosen the brake caliper bolts
3. Remove the caliper and old brake pads
4. Before installing new brake pads, lube up the mounting plates that come with the new pads with the brake lube. This prevents squealing of the new break pads.
5. Install new pads.
6. Using a brake caliper tool (it looks like a cube and you can buy it at autozone) turn the caliper piston (counter-clockwise for the rear passenger, clockwise for the rear driver side) while pushing in to retract the piston. This is so you can fit the caliper back over the pads. BE SURE TO USE THIS TOOL...DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SQUEEZE THE PISTON BACK INTO PLACE....IT WILL NOT WORK AND YOU MAY TEAR UP THE INSIDE OF THE PISTON HOUSING IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS!
7. Bleed brakes
8. Put tire back on
9. Pump brakes until pedal is stiff
10. test drive to see how you did!
