How do you replace the rear directional light in a 1991 Honda Civic SE Hatchback?

when you pop the hatch to the left and right of you there should be two coverings for both directinal lights, pull the covering off the faulty one and its as simple as un screwing the light bulb. Take it in to your service tech stor like NAPA or something and they should have your replacement for you. Then just screw it in. hope that helps.
