on a 4 cyl. locate the cam(valve) cover on top of the engine. there are 4 square rubber things with wires coming off of them headed to the coils. pull up on these and inside the exposed tubes are the spark plugs. a 5/8 spark plug socket on an 8" extension with a ratchet will remove them. they are good for at least 60,000 miles in general. If it's a V6 its a big pain so if you have to ask it would be best to bring it to a dealer or repair shop. Ive found that it isn't worth using anything but factory parts or NGK plugs on these as it is extremely to replace them and the reliability of other brands doesnt seem to cut it.
NGK and Denso plugs work with the 4 cyl, at least, very well. I know Bosch knows a lot about plugs but apparently not a lot about Toyota as their expensive +4s did not work as well or as long as single platinum NGKs which are under 3 bucks. If you are going to leave them in a long time put some antiseize on the threads. For combination driving they ought to go between 45 and 60 thousand miles.
