- open the liftgate
- remove the 2 screws at the top of the lense
- carefully work the lense straight back towards you , there are plastic pins >>>>>>>
that hold the lens in place
- the bulb sockets are a simple turn to remove
As far as I know the keypad has to be changed ( my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT keypad doesn't light up anymore , also )

If its the bulb you have to unscrew the light cover and pull out the old bulb and put the new one in.Then screw the cover back on.

On a 1995 Ford Explorer : You add engine oil to the engine through the extension tube located on the top of the passenger side engine valve cover , near the front of the valve cover ( it has a cap on it and it's near the top radiator rubber hose )
