How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme?

Follow the upper radiator hose until you reach the engine. There on the engine you will see the waterneck . the waterneck has two bolts on it . remove the bolts and remove the waterneck . when the neck is removed you will see the thermostat. remove the thermostat and replace it with the new one. put back on the water neck , then tighten the bolts .
Just yesterday afternoon I tried to replace the thermostat on my daughter's '92 Olds Cutlass Ciera S sedan w/V6 engine. The location of the thermostat housing could not be in a worse place for access. I finally gave up and checked the internet for a clue and came across this Q&A. The housing is buried under the air intake, air mass flow sensor, and behind a section of the exhaust piping. It is impossible to get to without lots of other work. Whoever did this design deserves a 2x4 upside the head. If you could get to the thermostat housing, then the original answer would be fine. Replacing a thermostat shouldn't be this hard. Maybe the original question should have been "How do you get access to the thermostat housing on a '92 Olds Cuatlass with V6 engine?"
