How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1993 Full Size Chevy Van?

The top radiator hose connects to the engine through the thermostat housing. Remove the radiator hose from the housing, remove the two bolts that hold the housing to the block, remove the thermostat from the housing, clean the housing and the block, put a new thermostat in (following the directions for orientation as specified by the box with the spring assembly TOWARD the engine.) Then after you have re-installed the thermostat housing and the radiator hose, add coolant and be on your way. While you're at it, check the radiator and heater hoses for brittle rubber or bulging spots and replace the hose if there is any evidence of damage.

Almost all thermostats are located at the motor where the top radiator hose connects to the motor. Drain the coolant, remove the 2 bolts in the thermostat housing, replace the thermostat, and replace the housing and refill the radiator.

Follow the top rad hose to the engine , There you will find the housing undo bolts , clean gasket on housing replace with new gasket and thermostat. Make sure engine is cool and drain anti-freeze first

Disconnect water hose from engine (put a pan under car to catch anifreeze that will drip out) Two bolts hold the housing on. Thermostat will be setting in the opening to block. On a 1993 Toyota Camry Vienta, the thermostat can be easily located by following the lower radiator hose to the point where it attaches to the engine. When replacing the thermostat, always replace gaskets as well.

Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. You have just found the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts and replace the thermostat and gasket if your engine uses a gasket. Be sure to note the orientation of the original thermostat before removing it.
