Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine to locate thermostat housing,The housing is located as follow a. four-ccylinder engines; on the front of the engine. b. on v6 engine; near the front of intake manifold. take clamp off of hose and there it is make sure how it is in, put the new in the same way as the old one come out and make u do this a cold engine. When you've removed the old thermostat, make sure all old gasket material is clean out. Usually most thermostat come with paper based gasket which may lodge into the engine if not cleaned properly. On the 2.5L 4Cyl, the thermostat is located inside the housing that is located on the front of the engine near the waterpump. There are two 8mm bolts that hold this housing to the front of the engine. Remove the housing. The thermostat is downstream inside the housing. I have found it difficult to get the new thermostat properly into the housing. Using a wrench that holds the 8MM bolt (magnetic) makes it much easier to get things put back together. The seal between the housing and the front of the engine is made with an O'ring. Don't be cheep - get the O'ring when you buy the thermostat.
