pain in the ass, trustme..
every other car I've owned has taken me 5 minutes to change thermostat
a thermostat costs $5.00
usually located where the top radiator hose connects to engine
for the Chevy impala several parts are on top of thermostat
throttle body, intake hose, even the fuel regulater gets in the way.
take it to a mechanic...
AnswerIts not too bad just take off the air intake hose and the throttle body AnswerI just changed my thermostat, it was a pain, but just take off the coolent bypass, and the duct to the intake. you have to "wiggle" your hands around and use an extention to get the top bolt out and a wrench and make tiny 1/8 turns from underneith the exhaust pipe, but you can do it. it isn't the easiest thing to do, but it CAN be done.THANKS!
on the 3.8 its easy to get to just 2 10mm bolts
weher thermostat locaked for impala 2001
