Overheating or no heat from the heater are sure signs it is bad. You car is 12 years old, just replace it if you have a suspicion it is bad. You can test the thermostat but why bother? You will have to remove it to perform the test. Just replace it.

Vauxhall currently has 12 models of passenger vehicles and Vauxhall currently has 5 models of commercial vehicles, totaling 17 different models of vehicle.
the part was 12 dollars at auto zone ,its located at the top of the motor, but be careful you have to remove fuel line to get it off.
Unfortunately there are 4 different Corsa models, Mk1 (called a Nova in the UK), Mk2, Mk3 and Mk4 (the current model). Not only does each model have completely different headlamps, but each model had more than one type of headlamp fitted. In each case the method to remove the adjuster is completely different. This means that to answer this question more then 12 different sets of instructions would be needed.
Hi, i have a W reg corsa B 1 liter 12 valve and the fuel pump relay is in the fuse board on the right hand side of the steering wheel, it is the purple square one and all you have to do is pull it out, i had to use long nose pliers coz my fingers were too fat to fit around it to pull it
Yes, the Vauxhall / Opel corsa 1.0 is a three cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder making it a 12 valve engine If you mean V12 engine 42 Fords Jags, Ferrari and many others had them. Also Honda made a 12 valve 4 cylinder, There is also is a v14 engine produced years ago by BMW for use in aircraft
what does code 82 mean on meriva mean 12 plate
You have to install the thermostat with the jiggle valve in the 12 o'clock position.
To Replace the thermostat if you follow the water pump toward the back of the engine. The thermostat housing is located right before all of the coolant hoses go into the water pump it is held onto the water pump with 3 bolts with 10mm bolts. the best way is to remove the three bolts and take out the old thermostat and scrape away the old gasket material. then take gasket and new thermostat and put rtv silicone around the top of the thermostat ( I recommend using the 1 minute silicone) then slip the thermostat into thermostat housing. Next take gasket and coat with silicone on both sides of gasket. then slip it in and finger tighten the three bolts. let set for 1 minute or 12 to 24 hours if 1 minute silicone is not used then torque down to appropriate specs don't overtighten
Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine, you will see where it clamps to a housing. Drain the coolant, then remove the 2 bolts on the housing take it off, clean gasket and replace THERMOSTAT. Put it back together.
