There are four different timing chains that all work together on this engine. If these timing chain arent all aligned just right the engine will have to be pulled from the vehicle and retimed. Even more difficult is the fact that all the cam gear dont have timing marks on them. They need to be set at TDC with specialty tools from Ford. This is a difficult task and without the right tool and know how should be done by a professional.
The 1999 Ford Explorer has a cam chain not a belt. No maintenance is required.
The 1999 Cadillac Seville does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain.
normally you shouldn't have to replace a timing chain unless you've been horsebeating your vehicle
I dont think you have to worry about that. 1999 has timing chain I dont think you have to worry about that. 1999 has timing chain I dont think you have to worry about that. 1999 has timing chain it does have a timing chain but if it has really high mileage its better to check and replace if it needs it because if it skips timing it could seriously damage the motor
It does not have a belt, it has a chain.
You do not need to replace the timing chain because there is no timing belt at all on Ford Taurus. It has a timing chain.
well if its a 4.6L engine it probably has a chain ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT : The 4.0 liter Single Over Head Cam , V6 engine has ( 3 timing CHAINS ) The 5.0 liter V8 engine , which is an Over Head Valve / pushrod design engine has ( 1 timing CHAIN )
there is nota timing belt, it is timing chain and you don't have to replace, it last forever
The Explorer 4.0 does not have a timing belt. Both the regular 4.0 or SOHC model have timing chains. The SOHC, I think has the timing chain at the back of the engine.
If it had a timing belt, you would replace it at 90,000 miles. But this engine has a timing chain and does not have a belt.
Timing chain.
