Changing the water pump on the cavailer isent the most fun thing, but its doable, i just did mine awile ago. Fist break the bolts on the pully, just so there loose, this will make it easier than how i did it. Next remove the belt. Next remove the bolts from the water pump 1/2 way, look out for hot coolent if the engine has been running. now unscrew the bolts from the pully. now finish taking out the pump bolts. after they are all out take out the pump, dosent fit out that nicely, just fight it out. put on the new gasket on the new pump, after u cleaned off all the old gasket from the engine block. add rtv, usually a good idea, put in the new pump, bolt it in, bolt it the pully, put the belt on, top off the coolent and its good to go.
Yes
It is behind the timing belt cover and is driven by the timing belt. There are various arrangements according to which engine is fitted.
