To replace the water pump on a 2003 Grand AM, the first step is to loosen the bolts on the old one and drain the fluid into a bucket. After it is drained, remove the bolts and the water pump and all of the hoses connected to it. Then, put in the new pump, reattach all of the hoses, tighten the bolts, and then refill the coolant reservoir.
