How do you reprogram door lock key pad on Ford Explorer?

You can't reprogram the 'factory' code, but you can add your own personal code to it. Do the following:

enter the factory code

within 5 seconds hit the 1/2 key

within 5 seconds enter your 5 digit personal code

(it cannot be 11111 or 22222 or 33333, etc)

you're done.

Note: if you don't know the factory code it is located inside the tire jack compartment in the rear driver's side of the explorer on a white sticker - usually hard to find and hard to read, but it's there.
