Check your manual. With my '02 Jetta Wagon the procedure is as follows... Get in drivers side with window down. Insert your master key into the ignition and turn on, dont start the engine. Now insert either another master or the valet key into the door (threw the window) and lock the car. Now back on the key in the ignition, press either lock or unlock once. Wait two seconds. Press either lock or unlock once again. Remove key from ignition, and your done. After you press either lock or unlock the first time, you only have a short time to finish. My remote had started only unlocking the drivers door and trunk after a trip for service *huge eye roll* but I was able to fix both key's that had remotes doing this. Hope it works for you.
if i remember right, you have to turn the key on and off eight times in less than ten seconds. then you push every buttom on the remote and turn ignition off. pretty sure but no guarantees
Walmart or any place that sells small batteries for watches or calculators.
You may reset the code by pressing either the unlock or lock buttons on the remote control. Within 1 minute of doing this, insert the key into the driver door and turn the key to the lock or unlock position.
The web site that I found for a replacement remote also had instructions for reprogramming it. There are several vendors who sell new remotes and you can find information for programming remotes on the internet.
Yes it is.
I've been working in the automotive feild for over 10 yrs. now and to my knowledge the only people who can reprogram the key-less entry remote, are the dealerships, most repair shops have all-data or mitchell on demand.....you could go on-line and pay for that information, however I'm not sure if all-data or mitchell would even have that info. Dealerships love keeping certain information for themselves so they can reach into your pockets. Good luck
The remote can be reprogrammed through the dealer. it is important to remember that if you have two remotes, you need to bring both. if you only program the new one, the old one will not work any longer. you can also purchase extra remotes on line, for substantially less than the dealer sells them for.
There are two entry pads on the 2002 Escalade. The first is the remote pad and second is located in the secondary information center on the dashboard.
Wii remote plus is black and wii remote is white and less advanced but also less expensive
The dealer will typically charge you close to $1000. You could do it yourself however for less than half that amount. I too have a '02 Jetta 2.0 liter and have had it replaced twice now and am getting ready to do it again. This is due to the oil blow by of the bad rings on the engine.
Turn the ignition key at a normal rate on and off about 8 or 9 times. (not to the point where the starter would engage) Your door locks will lock then unlock automatically, when this happens, press a key on the new remote. You new remote should now work.
If you point the remote, as with any remote, at any video camera while the camera is on the camera will pick up the infrared light and can be seen on the monitor. Of course you will have to depress your remotes keys while pointing it at the camera. Pretty much any convenience store clerk would ablige assistance by watching the monitor while you point and click. If no light is emmited then you either have a broken device or need a battery. If a light is emmited the you will have to have a dealer reprogram your remote to your vehicle. Good Luck
