There is more than 1 way to do it. Obd2 reader can reset the code as long as it is fixed. If you do not have that or can not borrow 1 then do this. Open the hood, take and loosen the bolts to both the negative and the positive battery cable connections. Take them off and hold them together for about 45 seconds. Put the positive on first then the negative, tighten the bolts and go and start the car. You will see once started it will run a quick check and the codes will be reset.
This is very ez and do not be afraid of the cables, they are not hooked to the battery and carry no juice. Good luck:)
The check engine light comes on in a car when there is a problem with the engine. It will go off or be reset when the problem is fixed.
YES IT CAN SO GET IT FIXED
If the problem was not fixed, then yes.
On most vehicles, after the problem is taken care of, the check engine light resets automatically after the ignition is turned off and then the engine is started again. If you have fixed one problem, a second problem probably exists.
A person can reset the check engine light by using an OBD scanner to clear the codes. This is after the problem is fixed.
Yes. Once the car's computer is no longer see the malfunction, it will no longer turn on the check engine light. Have the car diagnosed to find out the exact problem.
Is this a trick question? My answer is "there is no problem". It Depends on the code that will detrmined what the problem was. or what ever you fix it with was the problem
That varies with the problem. Could be immediate, or could take a week.
It is important to pay attention to the warning lights in a vehicle. When the check engine lights are on, it indicates a problem, and it needs to be fixed.
If the problem has been fixed and the light remains on you need to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. That should reset the check engine light.
It means your PCM has flagged a problem and you need to lookup its code to rectify the problem. You can: Goto the dealer and get it fixed Get a scanner to retrieve the code and do what it takes Do nothing and never know If your state has a smog program you will automatically fail if its emissions related
Have the computer scanned. Then have the problem fixed that has set the code.
