Make sure odometer (ODO) is slelected (not trip odometer). Hold in odometer "reset" botton. Turn Igniotion to ON but do not start engine. Light will flash and go off. Turn Ignition OFF. Release "reset" button.

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. If that does not work you will need an OBD2 scanner to reset it. Of course if you do not fix the problem that triggered the check engine light it will just come back on.
You do not reset it, it is a fault code. It is not a routine maintenance indicator. Fix the problem and the light will go out.

I have a 2007, but the method that worked was: with the car key in ACC, set the odometer to trip a, t hen turn the key off. Hold the bottom that switches the odometer from milage to trip a or trip b in, and then turn the key back to ACC. While you are holding the botton down you will see the maintenance light blink a few times, let the button up and it will go out.
