The easy way would be to go to the nearest auto parts store (like autozone) and borrow an OBD II tester, or have one of their employees do it, and use it to clear the SES memory. Sometimes just unhooking the Nrgative battery cable for about one minute will also reset the SES. Good luck
You will need a reset tool to reset the service indicator on the Mercedes e240. You will reset the indicator by using the buttons on the dash.
If the Check Engine light is on then there is a problem with the emissions system. Once that is repaired the light can be reset. Reset it without repairing the problem and it will just come back on.
Fix the problem. The code will disappear after 50 starts
After repairing the failure that caused the code, the lights will reset themselves.
Service it ;)
clear maint code from 2001 slk 320
If it is a 98 Lesabre the button is in the glove box. Simply hold it down until the light flashes on the dash. That should reset it!
you could just unplug the battrie for 5 min.
rest change oil indicator on the dash after you have changed the oil
On my 2003 C320 I scroll through the menu on the dash with key in and turned but car not running and go to the Schedule A or B maintenance in xxxx miles and hold reset button until it asks if I want to reset maintenance then hold down again for yes to reset indicator.
You have to plug a code reader into the OBDII port under your dash. You can borrow them free from many auto supply stores or get them very inexpensively (try eBay). The reader will tell you what the problem is with your ABS system. Once that's repaired the same device will allow you to reset the light. If you reset the light without repairing the problem it'll simply come back on again. Cheers
A Chrysler 300 dashboard malfunction indicator light is another form of the check engine light. This light appears of the dash when the engines computer reads a problem in the engine.
