Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem and/or have codes cleared
That requires an OBDII engine scanner.
The fuse controls for the cargo light on a 2001 Chevy Silverado are located in the fuse panel just beside the brake pedal. It is labeled on the cover and can be replaced by the owner.
Disconnect the negative on the battery terminal for 15 seconds.
engine code reader go to autozone its free tgere
the abs plug in on the wheel came off or it is a higher possibility that the brake fluid is low and when it gets to the limit line the light comes on
hi there you can reset the oil light by turning the key on and engine off, and fully press the gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds then start the truck and the oil light should flash, if it dont work try it all over again or look in your owners manual under reset oil light. instead of turning on ignition and pressing gas pedal three times try turning on ignition and pressing the brake pedal three times it worked on my 2001 silverado !
The proper way is with a scan tool after repairing the cause of the code that turned the light on. A batterydisconnect may also clear it.
I also have a 2001 Silverado and whenever I want to reset the computer I just disconnect the battery for awhile. It usually takes about 30 minutes for the computer to reset. Be aware however that this will not fix whatever caused the failure to begin with. If the problem still exists, It will reappear again.
Turn the ignition set to on without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times in quick succession and watch for battery light to flash three times, when it does, it is reset.
Yes it will.
Disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 2 minutes will reset the check engine light, but if the problem that caused it to turn on originally still exists, it will come on again.
