Use your car key and insert into the slot next to the Maintenance Required notification. It should get reset from red to green.
It means you need to take it to a service station and have someone to do a diagnostic.
Here is a link that walks you through turning off the maintenance required light step by step, I'm totally not car knowledgeable and did it on my on in two minutes! http://www.wikihow.com/Turn-off-the-%22Maint-Req%22-Light-on-a-2001-Honda-Civic
Scheduled maintenance for a 2003 Honda Civic applies to the type of service needed to keep the car running healthy. Oil changes are an example of scheduled maintenance.
It requires service: Either it needs to go in for oil change and similar normal maintenance or there is something gone wrong.
Your owner's manual discusses this very light. The light indicates that regular scheduled maintenance is required. Look in your owner's manual for the description of what maintenance items need to be addressed, and how to reset the light.
It may mean a scheduled maintenance is required, which at the minimum is an oil change. However, it can also mean more intensive maintenance is required, such as coolant flush/replace, transmission flush/replace, brake flush/replace, a tuneup (replace hoses, spark plugs, etc.).
For the first 100.000 miles only fluids have to be changed on a stock 2007 civic si. Obviously if you are moding your engine heavily other upgrades are required.
The maintenance required light only goes on after 7,500 miles since last 'maintenance'. The maintence required light will not turn off by replacing or changing anything, the only way to turn it off is by putting your key in the key slot next to the light.
its not a light, reset with your key
