The GM Oil Life System calculates when to change your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where you change your oil prior to a CHANGE OIL message being turned on, reset the system. Always reset the engine oil life to 100% after every oil change. It will not reset itself.
To reset the CHANGE OIL message, do the following:
1. Press reset stem till it Displays "OIL LIFE" on the DIC.(3 times)
2. Press and hold the reset stem. The oil life will change to 100% and a beep will sound.
3. Turn the key to LOCK. If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Hope This Helps.
Change engine oil, or check oil indicator?
The service indicator light, in your Mercedes ML 270, can be reset by holding in the engine oil life button. The engine oil life will go to 100 percent. The service indicator light should go off.
Oil change indicator will come on at 49 hrs for two hrs of operation than will reset itself.
no you have to change air sensor
only need to change a battery if the battery is not holding a charge suffient to start the engine
Most likely needs a tuneup done. Check the timing and change the normal tuneup part.
The check engine light has nothing to do with an oil change. It is an indicator of a failure of a component that will cause an increase in emissions. See related questions below for more info.
When the red sleeve shows in the window, the air filter is clogged. the indicator is connected to the engine side of the air filter, and the increase in vaccum causes the indicator to trip. It can be reset by pushing in the button on the end.
possibly change the temperature sensor???
A watt engine indicator is used to perform a measurement of the amount of steam pressure in a cylinder. This process is completed with the assistance of a manometer.
It would be your cerpentine belt that runs our "extras" on your engine or your transmisson. Best thing to stop it would be to change the belt under the hood on the engine. If that doesnt work change your transmission fluids.
What indicator are you referring to? Are you referring to the Check Engine light? If so, it is on because the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system.
