You will need to drill a hole large enough for the cable being very careful not to damage anything on the other side of the firewall. You will need to purchase a rubber grommet to insert into the hole and then run the cable through to protect the cable. You only need to run one cable, as you can ground the negative cable near the battery.
Why are you running a battery cable through the firewall in the first place?
Check the battery cables for being clean and tight. The smaller red lead goes to the power distribution box. The connections there are bad about making good contact.
The firewall (bulkhead) is thevertical piece of metal that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment.
two orange cables
You need to pass it under the car just under the passenger floor mat you have a hole just the right size for the cable
Disconnect the battery cables and then unplug any wires underneath the seat and there are 4 nuts on studs that hold the seat in, take the nuts off the studs and pull the seat out.
On firewall directly in front of driver.
it is the "wall" that seperates the engine compartment from the cabin.
Besure battery is full charged.(turn on headlights and look at them, they should be bright looking). If battery is cahrged, check main fues box under the hood.Look startre relay fuse.Should the fuze be o.k. then the next possible thing is the started. Lets back up a bit. While you are looking at the battery, remove the cables that connect to the battery and give then a cleaning.Reguardless. Some preventive maintenence never hurts with battery cables. Good luck
the egr valve on a 2004 impala should be on the drivers side of the engine. It is located at the rear towards the firewall.
Check battery cables for looseness or corrosion, also starter solenoid Also Neutral safety switch Had this problem and went through everything, finally had dealer replace the PCM and it was fixed. Cost was about $600 parts and labor.
i have the 3.4 liter 2000 impala and its up against the top of the firewall towards the middle of the engine
It is under the hood on the passenger side firewall.
