What color wire is the remote wire when using an amp with a factory radio in a 2004 ford f150?

instead of hooking up your amps remote wire to your CD player, i would run the wire to your fuse box and wrap the striped wire around a fuse for something like the windshield wipers or acc or something that turns on when you want your amp on. and then put the fuse back in and then it's the same as plugging it into your CD player, except not as much work

How do you connect remote wire to amp into Pontiac grand am stock stereo?

The remote wire requires a 12 volt power source that comes on with the car. The easiest thing to do is to wire it into the fuse box...coordinate with the diagram to find a fuse that comes on when you start the car or turn the key to accessory, such as turn signals, windshield wipers, etc.... Pull that fuse out, put the bare wire into where the fuse goes and secure it with the fuse.

If your fuse box supports 20 amp fuses can you replace one current 15 amp fuse with a 20 amp fuse?

The purpose of a fuse it to protect the wire that goes to the load. A 15 amp fuse protects a #14 gauge wire. A 20 amp fuse protects a #12 gauge wire. To answer your question if the wire size is #12 coming from the 15 amp fuse now then it can be upped to 20 amp fuse. If it isn't then you are taking the risk of overloading the #14 wire with a 20 amp fuse. This can lead to insulation failure of the #14 wire, overheating with the possible outcome of a fire breaking out somewhere in the circuit.

How do you install amplifier 2005 Pontiac grand prix?

You need to go to your local audio store and grab an amplifier kit. 2 to 8 gauge wire from battery to the amp. 20amp fuse connect the 2 to 8 gauge wire to battery. rca cables from radio to amp, remote wire from fuse box to amp. Very simple!! Run all wires under driver side paneling.

How do you hook up a sub-woofer and amp in a 2004 Mazda 3?

if you are keeping the stock stereo you have to get a rca converter(converts speaker wires to rca) and hook them up to the rear speakers. then run rca's to the amp, then run your power wire, ground, then the remote wire you will have to tap into the fuse box and find the radio fuse that turns off with your key, once you find that just tap into it and run the wire back to the amp.

How do you add an amp to stock silverado stereo?

you will need to buy a line converter. the line converter take the output to the speakers and turns into a rca signal. from there you connect that signal to amp. you will want to run the remote wire to the amp from a 12v source inside the cab. probably from the fuse box at either the radio fuse or accessory fuse. if you use the accessory fuse you will want to put a switch in the wire so you dont drain the battery down on accident. hope this helps/

Is there a way to bypass the remote wire when installing amp to factory stereo?

Yes you can connect it right to the hot wire along with the Main B+ but why? Most car stereo have a wire for electric antennas (labeled as such) and they are very handy to turn on the amp especially if you want to connect the amp main B+ right to the battery for high current which is desirable, you can also probe the fuse box with a voltmeter and find a fuse that only has power when the key is on or in ACC. The reason being y i dont want to use the remote activation is because im going ipod amp speakers and my ipod dosent have a remote activation. If the dont know its there then they wont look to steal it

Is it safe to have a 100 amp fuse in the meter box and only 60 amp rated wiring running from it to the consumer box?

No if the load on the consumer box (circuit breaker panel) were to exceed 60 amps the wire would burn before the fuse blew

How do you fix a burned wire that is plugged in at the fuse box under the Bat sign?

To fix a burned wire that is plugged in at the fuse box under the Battery sign, the wire will have to be removed and a new one soldered in place. Before doing this, find the cause or overload that caused this wire to burn in the first place. It could be that a fuse of too high an Amp was placed in the fuse box by mistake.

How do you wire a sub and an amp in a 1995 Chevy silverado?

The amp has connections for a "hot", "ground", and "remote" wires. I have a 95 extended cab. I put my amp behind my back seat and screwed it to the back of the cab. The hot wire, typically red, needs to be no smaller than 8 gauge wire depending on how powerful the amp and sub are. This wire needs to hook into the "hot" or "+" port in your amp. You might have to splice the wire and crimp a connector to the end of it. The other end needs to connect to the hot or +(red) side of your battery. The ground can be connected to any metal bolt that is directly connected to your vehicles chassis. The remote wire can be ran from your amp to your fuse box which is on the dash board on the drivers side. it can be a really small wire as is doesnt provide "power" and you can take a 10-20 amp fuse out of its place and wrap the (blue) remote wire around one of the 2 prongs of the fuse, it doesnt matter which one. Then simply plug the fuse back in. The ground wire is usually black by the way. Now get some Monster Cable speaker wire and run it from your amp to your subwoofer. It doesnt really matter which terminal you plug the wire into, (the + or the -), just be certain you do it the exact same way on the other end of the wire. next you need another speaker wire but it needs to have plugs on it, like an RCA cable. It plugs into the output terminals in your amp and runs to your stereo. Stock radios will not have plugs for this, but most after market decks do. There are ways to hook it up if you have a stock deck, but I would recommend getting an after market deck to maximize sound quality.
