It's Very simple, the reason your betta is on it's side is because it has this sickness called swim blatter disorder it is a sickness where the fish's stomach is bloated so the air bubble in the stomach is to big and makes the fish float up to the top of the tank. The betta is not in pane I heard from this but it is defiantly annoyed. It happens usually in young bettas that eat to much brine shrimp so check if the food your giving it contains any. If your betta however is a two finned betta its probably because your feeding it too much
it looks like they have a big bubble in their side
diseased.
It most likely means that he/she is sick because that is what happened to my betta fish. make sure you don't overfeed your betta fish because it can lead to constipation and that will cause trouble for the betta fish
When a fish is floating on it's side, on the surface of the water, it's probably dead.
bettas are not sick when they lay on their side they sleep that way
it will always be at the top of the water with the upper side of it turned down
i think it afungus he will have 3 day to make it unless you go to a nearest pet store and get some treatment .
Is he just floating or like on his side?? if his tail is starting to deteriorate then its probably fin rot
It depends on what the betta is sick with. Search for the symptoms your fish is showing. Is there fungus growing on it? Is it bloated? Is it laying on its side? Also, be aware of the parameters in your tank. Check for ammonia (there shouldn't be ANY ammonia) and nitrites (there shouldn't be any nitrites, either!). While you try to figure out what is wrong, change some of the water in the tank - especially if you are keeping your betta in a bowl. Change 25-50% at a time, so that the water doesn't change too suddenly. Good luck!
100% yes. I'm afraid it is highly unlikely that you will be able to save the fish at this point either. Dropsy is usually a secondary symptom of another infection (usually bacterial). The dropsy is usually caused because the fishes immune system was unable to fight the primary infection, and it has caused organ damage, usually to their kidneys. Dropsy can also occur for no apparent reason in an older fish. As with humans sometimes as fish age their organs begin to fail, as such they contract dropsy. I offer my deepest hopes that your fish makes it.
try changing it's water more offten, use warmer water. When I got mine from my sister-in-law it just floated at the top like it was about to die. I just change it's water every other day w/ warm water and it came back to life. 3yrs later still kickin.
The fish is ill and may need to be treated with antibiotics, or the water quality is bad due to lack of maintenance
