Drain the fluid and replace the filter. Install exactly the same amount of fluid as you removed. Do not overfill. I suggest you have this done where they can remove all the fluid and not just what is in the pan. The torque converter and lines also contain fluid which just removing what is in the pan will not get. This is a messy service that in most instances is best left to a pro who has the proper equipment to do a complete job.

You check it and add fluid at the same place. Look on the transmission for a dipstick.
