To make internet Explorer as the default browser, you can do 2 things:
1. Go on: Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > (on the left tabs) > Set Programs and Access Defaults and make you selections on Custom or choose the Microsoft settings.
Or if you do not have the "classic" start menu, just click on Set Programs and Access Defaults.
2. Go into: Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs and down near the middle where it says Default Web Browser, check the box.
