To set the clock on a 1996 Silverado: turn the radio off; there are two small buttons below the clock, one says hours and one says minutes. All you do is HOLD the buttons down until you get the time you want.
This type information can be easily found in your owner's manual. If you do not have one, I suggest you get one. Dealer can order you one or you may find one at a salvage yard. Also search on line for a down loadable copy. Some manufactures do have these on line. That is not a answer While the radio is turned off, push the set button one time. Then push the forward scan button to change the minutes and push the back scan button to set the hour. After setting the time push the set button one more time and you're good to go.
