On the Toyota, you have a little 'diagnostic' box on the left side, if you look under the hood it will tell you which terminals to short out with a wire which disengages the spark advance. I think the yota is set 5 degrees before top dead center.

You don't jump any terminals. I'm assuming your talking about using the DLC. Hook a timing light to the number one spark plug wire and loosen the clamp bolt on the distributor a little. Timing should be a 36-38 degrees BTD.
