Ignition timing is electronically controlled.
-First you must disconect a small wire under your glove box down by the floor mat before you can start timing, (its a small brown wire) -Hook up your timing light to the #1 spark plug. -Start your engine and see currently where your timing is at. -From there lossen your distributer and adjust accordingly. -You may advance your s-10 slightly. but it also has electronic timing is it will adjust a little when u have it set close. what degree to set at
After disassembling to expose timing belt, look for TDC and ATDC timing marks. Align them, allowing 43 centimeters. Set BTDC mark in like manner.
I have a 92 s10 blazer and my code 43 was fixed by replacing the knock sensor. so maybe check the knock sensor and the wiring from that to the ECM.
