You need a shop vac. they have the canned stuff (upholstery cleaner) with a litttle brush applicator. It has consistency of shaving cream & a pleasant smell,. It helps lift out the dirt. Just follow directions & suck it up really good when done.
If it is just general odor, a deep cleaning shampoo of the interior will do the trick. If it is mildew, you may have to go back over the clearned interior with Lysol.
