No. Hundreds upon hundreds of jumpstarts later I can honestly answer no.
Sounds like your vehicle is equipped with the daytime running lights (DRL system) When the vehicle is started and the emergency brake is released , the daytime running lamps automatically come on. Start your vehicle and then apply the parking brake to see if the headlights shut off , if they do then you have the DRL system.
It's called day running lights. Some newer vehicles have it. They go off when the vehicle is shut off
If theres not a off position on the switch, check to see if theres a manual override button. just below the head light switch there is a little round button push it 3 to 4 times and it will shut the automatic running lights off and will not come back on untill you do it again or shut the vehicle off and restart the engine...
With the ignition off set the park brake then turn the truck on and the light will be off
The factory anti-theft system will only prevent the vehicle from starting when the coded keys are not present. It is not able to shut down a running vehicle.
AnswerI assume that you mean why won't the headlights turn off when I turn them off at night. The 98 Malibu has a light sensor that automatically turns on the head lights when it senses a low light condition. Unless there is sufficient light from some other source directed at this sensor, the head lights will not turn off when you turn them off using the switch on the dash panel. They will only go off when the head light switch is in the lights off position and the car is shut off.The only other way to turn the headlights off while the vehicle is running in low-light conditions, is to set the parking brake prior to starting the vehicle. This will prevent both Headlights and Day-Time Running lights from turning on when the vehicle is running.
The lights will go out after a few mins after you shut off the car...but if you want to turn off the Daytime running lights or the automatic headlight control, you have to pull either the relay or fuse for the DRL
I don't understand question please phrase differently.
Your question is a little ambiguous, but I have a 2001 Malibu and it has daytime running lights (for safety). So, my running lights are on during daylight and the headlights automatically come on at nighttime. You can turn the switch to shut them off if need be. I hope that helps!
could be a defective relay on the twilight sensor. I believe Located under dash to left of radio. Try disconnecting
The fan remains running after the vehicle shuts off in order for the engine to cool down. Once the motor cools down sensors trigger the fan to shut it off.
