To join outdoor wire (UF), purchase an "underground splice kit" for each splice. Follow the instructions. Note that this kit comes with a rubber sleeve that covers the finished splice and shrinks around it using a heat gun or blowtorch (such as a plumber's torch). A hair dryer set on hottest setting may work instead. When heating, start in the center and move to the ends as it shrinks.
Check the ground wire between the body and the drivers door. They get pinched and loose continuity. If need be Cut the pinched wire and splice a wire between the cuts. This should solve the problem
If its the drivers door lock switch not working, 99 times out of 100 the problem is a corroded/broken splice in the wires. The wires/splice run under the passenger side carpet. Remove the passenger side plastic door-sill plate and pull up the carpet revealing the wire harness. Unwrap the electrical tape, find the solid white wire and solid light-blue wire. On the white and blue wire there is a splice(wrapped in electrical tape) with 2 wires splicing into one wire. You will need to remove the electrical tape and most likely you will find the splice is corroded or completely broken(due to water leaking inside-another story). Cut out the corroded wire and splice in a new piece of wire, wrap in electrical tape and you should be good to go.
I could cut that wire but I won't. It would be a stupid thing to do. The warning lights are there for a good reason. I will fix what is wrong with my car. At three o clock in the morning I will simply drive past the idiot on the side of the road in the broken down Passat who cut the warning lights and let his engine blow up.
A wire may be cut from the brakes. the turn signal wire is still connected
Lights Don't WorkUsually this is caused by an "open circuit" caused by a connector or splice in the circuit between the control switch and the light.Open circuits can be caused by several things, a few of which I can recall now:A disconnected connector or splice in the circuit.Corrosion buildup inside a connector.Corrosion in the metal "socket" the lamp [light bulb] is inserted into.A cut or broken wire in the circuit including the ground wire between the lamp socket and the grounded car body sheet metal.
Disconnect the device. Open your steering column and find the wire harness that goes to the device. You'll see that your ignition wire is cut, and runs to two wires in the harness. Cut those two wires from the harness, splice them back together, and you'll have effectively re-connected your ignition wire.
Four full tucks should be put in an Admiralty Eye Splice before removing the outer layer of the strands and doing a further two tucks with the cores. This tapers the splice. Cut off the strands and outer cores with about 2cm sticking out from the splice to prevent them slipping when the eye is under tension. Parcel and serve with a heavy grease.
Loosed ground, short on wire, faulty light bulb. Most likely cause, if all the lights are affected, is a faulty light switch.
if the speakers are the right size for the stock location, pull out the factory speaker and eather buy a special conector or cut the original conector off and get new wire and but splice the new wire to the factory wire and attact to the speaker.
Look at plug, wider blade is the Neutral (MARK IT) the more narrow blade is Hot (MARK IT) Cut end off wire.. Inside a wire splice box wire nut black to hot, white to neutral. This is a very basic task however if you have no experience maybe contact an electrician.
If you cut the wire from the light switch to the frount running lights (single use light) you can then hook a new wire from a keyed power source (check manuel) and the running lights will come on every time you start the truck. costs $Priceless
Match the wires by their color codes and splice them together with splice connectors and a crimping tool.
