Alright so you're currently with your one main cable internet connection and you want to have multiple users access the net with different computers at the Same time. All you need basically is a device called a "Router."

To begin with, you'll first need to obtain a Router. Now there are quite a few different models out there ranging from wireless ones to hard wired ones. For this example I'll be sticking to wired ones however if anyone feels like adding wireless Routers to the answer please feel free to do so.

Basically all you have to do is plug in your ethernet cable that normally goes into your computer into the router instead. From there, that cable will be split into more connections, depending how many your router supports and how many you actually want. All that you must do is plug more ethernet wires into the empty slots and plug them into the computers in which you want internet access.

Now obviously this explanation is brief as it's not getting into the workings of a router and more in depth set-up and security. If you're interested in a router, it's recommended to read up on various well-made documentation easily found on the internet. It will save you from many hassles in the future.

Answer Instead of a router you could always just get a switch. Some routers have to be programmed before they can be used (not that its an overly hard thing to do). But a switch would be cheaper and easier to set up.
