there is a special tool that is shaped in the form of a box if you will and it has different patterns on each side of the box. You have to take the box (if you will) and choose the pattern that suits yoour vehicle (you will see the pattern when you take the tire off) and use a ratchet to turn the box which is connected to the pattern attached to the calibers. Then just start turning and you will see the calibers recend
