Very few trucks at that time had automatic transmission. So you can start a manual transmission by pushing it off. Turn on the ignition switch. Place the gear into 2nd gear. Depress the clutch. Push the truck to about 5 to 10 mph and release the clutch and the engine will start.
Hot-wire is a word that means to start a car without using the ignition. This is often used to describe what is done when someone steals a car.
you need to have the ignition barrel in the on position otherwise you cant to it.
Getting a car to start without using the key is called hot wiring the car, however the process is far more difficult than it used to be, if not impossible. Many new cars have keys that have circuit boards in them that only allow the car to start if they are connected to the ignition.

Using the clutch start cancel button on a Toyota Tacoma will damage the truck. Damage can occur to the starter and eventually the engine.
You dont.
I can't stand this paranoia feature; I am so glad to be rid of it. Cycle the ignition 4 times without starting the truck - leaving it in the "on" position on the 4th cycle. Lock the doors using the lock switch and you should receive 1 "ding" chime (the same one you get multiple times on startup). Start the truck and drive it away.
Using the ignition key, lock and unlock the drivers door. This resets the car alarm which disables the ignition. The car will now start.
Not enough information. Could be as simple as too much corrosion on the battery clamps OR - maybe you're trying to start it using an ignition key that is not programmed correctly OR - a bad ignition switch - bad starter - bad relay in the under hood fuse box - etc. Too many possibilities to pin it down without more info.
A starter solenoid can be bypassed by connecting a jumper wire between the battery and ignition posts on the starter. This will cause it to spin immediately without using the ignition switch.
New AnswerUsing your current key, insert it into the ignition & turn the ignition to the "On" position but not the "Start" position. Do not start the truck. Next, using a very small screwdriver (preferably a Phillips head) insert it into the hole located under the ignition key cylinder on the steering column.Pressing upwards with the small screwdriver or nail, you will press in the release button.Firmly grip the key & ignition cylinder while pressing up on this release button & remove while in the "On" position.Insert your new ignition cylinder with the key in it, into the "On" position until it snaps in place. Going in, the release button does not need to be depressed. You now have a Cylinder key, that will not match your door lock keys!Best of luck.
If all of the other remote functions work, the problem is most likely in the truck. Check all of the connections and the relay that control the remote starter functions of the truck.
