The best way to start a car after it runs out of gas is with the ignition key after refilling the fuel tank.....LOL, no but on a serious note if you can remove the air filter housing to prime the "CARBURATOR" please do so with a 1/4 ounce of gas before starting , if it is fuel injected just fill the tank with at least a gallon of fuel, turn on the key and let the electric fuel pump pressure up the fuel lines with the fresh gas, this will happen rather quickly about 25-20 seconds with the ignition key in the on position, then crank the engine over to start it. Depending on the type of engine, there are several different ways. Withcarburetion, crank the engine for several seconds and then pump the accelerator pedal a couple of times. Continue cranking up to 15 seconds- anymore could overheat the starter. Let it rest a few seconds and try again. It should fire up. With fuel injection, just cranking the engine should let it start if the fuel pump is good. With diesel engines, there may be air in the lines. Some engines have a primer button that draws fuel into the engine. Some engines require the fuel line at the injectors to be loosened to bleed the air. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS SOME FUEL PUMPS PUT OUT UPWARDS OF 50,000 PSI OF PRESSURE AND CAN CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY! Also remember on a fuel injected gas engine it is always best to let the key stay on in the start circuit, allowing the electric fuel pump to fill the fuel lines and fuel rails you may even hear the fuel pump relay sound off with the radio etc turned off during this process....when you hear the pump relay stop then crank it over to start because pumping the gas pedal on injected cars wont do anything for your car to start accept perhaps get a code set in the computer memory.
put a little bit on gas in the carb and start it up
of course not it doesn't have feelings like a human or animal, the engine will simply just cut out and not start again until you refill it with gas
Add gas, crank engine. If it doesn't start in about 30 seconds, it was not out of gas and you have a different problem.
Engine will loose power, engine sputters or stops running, GAS GAGE SAYS EMPTY
Clean out the carburetor with gas, the reason it wont keep running is its not getting enough gas through the carburetor.
Because the engine may need to be flushed because trash has gotten into the tail pipe.
because your engine is going to break down or when you start the car if the whether is cold, it makes it smell like gas
If your engine has a carburetor, a small amount of fuel will be sprayed in to the intake manifold when accelerator is depressed, and engine isn't running. This is fuel stored in the accelerator pump reservoir to prevent hesitation. So if the engine isn't running, it will spray the first time accelerator pedal is pressed and it won't introduce additional fuel no matter how many times you press the gas pedal after the first press. The engine needs to be running for the accelerator pump well to refill. If your asking because you're wondering if pressing the gas pedal will flood the engine making it hard to start, the answer is No, it won't flood the engine. If your engine does not have a carburetor, then it's fuel injected. No fuel at all will enter the engine with the gas pedal pressed, engine not running. The engine has to be cranking (starter engaged to start engine) for the fuel system to operate. 0 chance of fuel if the engine is not cranking or running to activate fuel injection.
To start a Saturn after running out of gas, a little ether sprayed in the carburetor might help. Another way to start a vehicle after running out of gas is to pump the gas until it gets enough to start.
No, but it could cause the check engine light to illuminate.
what if he gas is going to the engine but the car want start?
check fuel fliterthen test fuel pump
