How do you start the NCR quest in Fallout New Vegas?

You must have a good relationship with the Followers by completing their quests and or donating medical supplies. You can get the quests and make donations by speaking with Julie Farkas at the Mormon Fort in Freeside. She is also the one who gives you the key. A good rule of thumb is that each faction's safe house only becomes accessible when you are on good terms with that specific faction.

You can after you do some missions for them and havent made a crime agaist the ncr. A message will pop up on your screen and say NCR accepted and if you go around talking to the ncr soldiers they will say things like "Welcome aboard" and"Keep up the good work!"

Well this is how I got it. When I first got to nipton I didn't kill the legion soldiers that took the town over. Instead I talked to the guy with dog hat..Can't miss him..and I agreed with the "Purity of the legions justice" to get Caesar's Legion fame. He then tells you to spread the word of what they did to nipton for more Legion fame. Do that quest.

Then head for the strip, talk to house, then head to the tops casino to kill or let benny go. (Tip: keep pressing B to pull up up your pitboy during loading screen so when its done loading you can pull up your inventory real quick and drop your strongest gun before the Chairman takes your weapons away. But if you get to close too benny with any weapon out they will shoot at you then you'll be chasing benny all over the dumb casino..) ANYWAY after that, the guy with dog hat will meet you outside the Tops casino but he'll have a top hat on instead..he must have a thing for hats..He tells you to goto cottonwood then take a boat to The Fort to meet Caesar.

Once you're in front of Caesar, Dog hat guy will be to the LEFT Caesar, talk to him get his quest and complete it. Then there's a guy behind Caesar in the tent do his quest. And after you get their quests complete then do Caesar's quests intill you've taken care of the brotherhood..

After you complete the BrotherHood quest for ceasar you should have enough fame to have reached "Liked"

Once you completed those quests Talk to the Guy Behind Caesar's thrown, in the tent, Sitting on the table. He'll award you with the key to the safe house, its just off the road, between Nipton and the NCR outpost.

If you have high enough [Unarmed] skill he'll also teach you some legion punches i guess? I don't know. I'm like one 1 skill point with unarmed.

Oh and Just a place to check out if your have not already...go check out "Quarry Junction" its noth of "Sloan" and East of "Goodsprings cemetery" You might want to bring a gun...or two.

In other words pretty much obtain Caesar's Legoin Fame, I found it kind of easy to get this I just did a couple of missions for Caesar's Legion and fought in the Arena at the fort.
