If the chime won't stop on your Chevy Silverado, you can remove the chime fuse in order to make it stop. Open the fuse panel and choose the fuse that is marked 'chime module.'
Your door could be chiming because your door is coming open each time you turn. You should have your door checked to ensure it is closing completely.
Check the rear fog light switch.
it is a safety feature so you are less likely to lock your keys in the car but if you have to stop it you can put the key in and open the door at this point you stick your head under the dash and listen then carefully unplug the module that is making the noise
My 1995 Ford Explorer has also done that occasionally ( although I have removed the ignition key as soon as I open the drivers door , the key in ignition chime starts " going " ) What I do is put the ignition key back in and then remove it again and the chime will stop Give that a try
Find and remove or disconnect the chime relay.
I have solved the problem thankyou.
There is an approx 3X2 inch black box under dash near fuse panel. Just grab and pull out.
You want to remove the door chime, it's under the dash and is the largest rectangular plug in box of the elect. panel to the left of the brake pedal. Pull the entire retangular component out of the panel, the chime will stop if you get the right one. Or with a bright light you should be able to read "Chime" next to the now empty slot for the removed piece. I removed the center fuse which was for the "DEFOG". I have like four other plugs with several wires coming out of them and they are all the same size. I am looking at the manuel and none of them say "Chime". Please help
Doors will open too far if there is a lack of a barrier to prevent it. Commonly known as a 'door stop' they can be attached to the floor or the wall to stop a door at a desired point.
A door stop is a piece of trim attached to the inside of the door jam. It is placed so that the door stops against it. Alternately, a door stop is used to hold open a door or to prevent the door from opening too far.
