You cannot stop two hamsters from fighting. It doesn't matter what two genders they are, or how young or old. They will keep having that urge to fight with each other. The only way to prevent them from fighting would be to put them both in separate cages, each cage a large enough cage so they could each have enough space that they are comfortable with. There's that way, or you could always sell one if you wish to take that route.
I've dealt with hamsters before.
Hamsters are cute, no doubt of that. However, syrian hamsters are solitary and thus they will fight if two adults are together in a cage. They can inflict serious injury on each other and so must be kept in separate cages. Even breeding pair of Syrian Hamsters live on their own and only meet each other for the purposes of mating. Dwaf hamsters
are more sociable, they usually stay peacefully in pair or in group of same species, either same sex or mix. Play-fighting often occurs when they are establishing an order of dominance, they may squeak a lot but there is little physical contact. If however, the fighting is very physical and prolonged then it may be that they don't get along and need to be separated.
Tips for preventing hamsters fight
* Keep syrian hamsters solitary, they are happier alone.
* Do not keep dwarf hamster apart for too long. They forget whom their friends are when they forget how their friend smells.
* Do not keep fighting hamsters together. Chances are that fighting hamsters will fight to the end.
* Give the hamsters a lot of distractions by giving them ample space, plenty of hiding places and toys. This will reduce the stress created by having to live with one another in an enclosed space
Well I have two female hamsters myself and they were nice and cuddly with each other in the beginning then they started fighting and i just broke it up and they went back to normal life then then they really started to fight then I read up about it and everyone says they will kill each other so i bought another cage an I separated them for good
When your hamsters start to fight they need to be separated straight away as hamsters like to be on there own , so i suggest getting another cage to separate them.
get one more cage
Separate them, they cal kill each other.
Unfortunately there's nothing you can do except for separating them.
Its better for you to separate the hamsters if they are fighting.
some hamsters like to be alone. They mostly fight with other hamsters that are not the same species as them. You should put them in different cages if they keep fighting because they can die.
Well first of all, teddy bear hamsters will fight until death. They are very aggresive to other hamsters. Any kind. So you should only have one by its self
When they start fighting.
Honestly? Hamsters are not like people. If they're rolling around on top of eachother, I promise, they're fighting. -w-
most hamsters fight when another sex is in there or you may think there fighting when there breeding.......
separate them they may get injured if they always fight.if they do get injured go to the vet
They'll stop fighting quicker if you be a responsible owner & stop the fighting.
When you see them fighting stick your hand or finger in between them or tap them lightly (it will hurt a little bit for them, but not very much) to let them know to stop.
