A fuel pump pigtail would be the electrical connector and the last few inches of the wire harness before it is plugged into the fuel pump. It connects the vehicles wire harness to the fuel pump. The fuel pump pigtail is known to melt down from heat because of high resistance due to dirty/loose wire connections.
I had the same problem bud. Remove and inspect the crankshaft sensor. Also clean the connector pigtail inside with a spray for electronic contacts. Inspect the connector pins of the pigtail closely for damage. Get your sensor at Oreillys NOT autozone.
That is a diode. It reduces voltage surges when the compressor kicks off and on.
1998 Dodge Caravan Speedometer Has a second connector attached with a white pigtail. What is that used for and will it operate without it?
Take a look at the back of the blower switch, you may see the plastic electrical connector and wiring melted, if so replace the switch and pigtail. Both are available at many auto parts stores.
The girl wore her hair in a cute pigtail.
What you need is an alternator wiring pigtail harness from the dealer!
Pigtail is a device to protect the brush from sparking
Most fuel pump manufacturers will supply a new pigtail with a new fuel pump. This is because the pigtails have been prone to failure in the past. If you are supplied with a pigtail it would not be a bad idea to replace it. It does not usually NEED replaced though. When replacing the pigtail be sure to solder your wires carefully, and use heat shrink tubing(not electrical tape). Do not use crimp on "butt" connectors unless you want to drop your fuel tank every couple years to replace them.
I think, it hasn't. Only the wiring harness has. Well it's not correct. The Ford pigtail connectors has a part number.
US NEC: You must provide a box to join the old and new wiring together. Also, when making modifications to old wiring, you must upgrade the old wiring as needed to meet current code.
Check the wires to the blower motor resistor under the passenger side of the dash. The wires will get hot and melt causing an open in the circuit. If this is the case, there is a replacement pigtail and connector assembly available from GM. Also, go ahead and replace the resistor itself because it is probably going to be melted too.
