Hey, TensuZanpakto XXIII here. There are several ways to capture video on an Xbox (360 or original). The best and probably ONLY way to do it for Halo 2 is to buy a video capture device. These devices hook up to your Xbox (either internally or externally) and record your game data and game play in real time. This way you can make videos and edit them as you please relative to your gameplay. Sometimes the video gives the option of looking at the gameplay from a third person view camera. This can offer the possiblity of creating "machinima" which is probably what you were trying to do. Its going to cost you a pretty penny depending on which you get. Internally, it is really cheap, but you will have to mess with the wiring of your console and incorrect installation can cause severe damage to your system (meaning destruction of save data or even the possiblity of rendering your Xbox unplayable). Externally, it is really expensive, however, you lose the risk of damaging your system. All in all its your call. If you feel confident in your ability to disassemble your system without breaking it, then go for an internal capture system. However, understand that if you put the device internally, once you put it in, it will never come out.
