You need to take off the 3-4 screws on the slide. then unscrew the 2 screws on the dart holder. Then there are about 10 screws on the main gun. also there are 2-3 under the slide.
how do you take apart the slide mechanism in a muzzle loader
Place the pistol on safe. Remove magazine, pull back slide and be SURE weapon is unloaded. Push the take-down button located at the rear of the slide using a punch tool. While holding the take-down button in, lift the slide away from the frame, then release the take-down button and pull the slide off the front of the gun. The firing pin and spring can be removed from it's slot in the slide. I strongly advise to go no further.
You can take the dash apart and slide them on the bolts, or with the dash still intact remove the nuts securing the speakers to the bolts and slide them off from behind. A little aggravating but absolutely better than taking the whole dash/windshield/rollbar apart.
How far down did you take it apart? If it's just taken down to regular operator level maintenance, it should be a simple matter of putting the barrel into the slide, putting in the recoil spring, putting the slide onto the frame, and then securing the slide onto the frame by toggling the slide lock. If you have it taken apart further than that, your best advice is to take it to a gunsmith for reassembly, especially if you've removed the internals, as Kimber uses some metal injection moulding components in their internals.
if all you want to know is how to take it apart, take the stock off and loosen the stud pushing against the tubular magazine slide it forward and down pull the trigger and slide the bolt out the back of the receiver.

The gun must be in unloaded, uncocked and in fire position before takedown can be performed. To remove the slide, use a blunt object to push the take down button, located on the back end of the slide, forward until it stops (about 1/8 inch). While holding the take down button depressed, gently lift the slide away from the Frame until it stops. Release the take down button gently as it is spring loaded. Hold the rear of the slide up and push the slide forward, off of the end of the gun. This procedure removes the entire slide assembly and is sufficient for normal cleaning and oiling.
When two plates move apart it forms a hole but new crust is formed.
