Replacing a steering knuckle on a Chevy Colbalt is easy. All you have to is take the steering wheel off and replace the old one.
You do have to take the steering column apart including the air bags. Due to the possiblilty of deploying the air bags and the complicated steering column, I suggest you take it to a garage.

You have a Saginaw steering column common for that year in all GM/Chevy products Go to this site: www.buickperformance.com/tiltsteeringcolumnwobble.htm It has a complete article including cataways with easy to understand and follow instructions I used it and rebuilt mine in a 1989 suburban in 1 day; including getting the parts and tools.
