Pull straight up. It will pop off. You can also use a dowel rod, or somthing to that extent to tap it off. Good luck.

It's right next to the transmission oil filter. It has a two-wire connector plugged into it. NOTE: if you have a manual transmission, there is no trans fluid temperature sensor.

First make sure the gearcase is full, if it is still giving you trouble you can pull the shifter boot from the floor and put a few drops of gear lube where the shifter enters the transmission.
