If you are talking about a canter you need to take the half shaft out
to take off a drum of your rear brakes you need a flat head screwdriver. simply place the screwdriver through the crack between the drum and the axel and pull in your direction all the way around and this should loosin the drum being able to get to your brakes

id like to know the same thing. i have a 1995 Honda ATV. and i cant get the rear brake drum off
On the drum there is 2 threaded holes. Take 2 bolts and thread them into the holes, until the cover comes off.
