The harmonic balancer of an externally balanced engine will have some type of fairly substantial offset weight either cast into it, or sandwiched between the timing chain cover and the harmonic balancer.
It's a bearing that the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine rotates on.
The eighth digit in the VIN is the engine code. The eighth digit for the 4.6 will be either 6 or W. 6 = Windsor. W = Romeo. The Windsor engine has 13 bolt valve covers and a 8 bolt crank (flywheel). The Romeo engine has 11 valve cover bolts, and a 6 bolt crank (flywheel).
If it is an internal leak the coolant will end up in the crank case mixed with your oil and it will ruin the bearing/engine - if external leak then the engine will overheat when it runs low on coolant, and blow your head gasket
no. there totally different. the timing belt is connected to the crank pulley and the cam shaft pulley. the serpentine belt is attached to your ac if you have it, the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump (but you have a crx like me so you have rack and pinoin unless converted to power) and is driven by the crank pulley. the crank pulley usually has 2 belts running off of it a external belt and a internal belt or chain. internals timing. exturnal is the other belt
The sensor is held in place by one small bolt with an external torx head.
The injection pump crank sensor is internal to the injection pump. It is not serviceable.
I wouldn't advise it. If it does start and run, you will cause more internal damage to the engine.
After you remove the bolted on belt pulley use a screw driven dampner remover that has "L" shaped clamps. Sometimes called an internal/external puller.
all external bolt on parts will work. heads, intake, dist, cam, pan, timing chain, oil pump etc. should all work as well. most internal parts will not work though. such as pistons crank rods and block. The 305 crank will fit the 350, but will need to be balanced. i would not use the 305 heads due to small compression chambers.
About 15 minutes , it is external need to lift vehicle if your timing belt cover is plastic!
The same 5.0L Windsor V8 was used in the 1992 F-series pickups and made 185 Horse Power at the crank and 270 lb-ft of torque.
No, the internal tone wheels for the cam and crank sensors are different. The engine would not start.
