Well that would depend on your relationship with your boss. If your boss is a real jerk, or if you don't like him, I would check your company's policy on notice before quitting, after all, you don't want one of your future references to be a bad one. Then I would just flat out tell him why I'm leaving, why the job is better, (why working there was horrible if that applies).
If you like your boss then I would sit down with him, apologize, and tell him why the new job will be good for you. Who knows? He might even offer you a better pay to keep you on. ;)
You get fired when you do something your boss doesn't want you to do or something, or boss just just doesn't need you anymore and has found someone better than you to do your job.
You can say that the boss hired you for the wrong job. Emphasize that the new job for which you are applying matches your skills better.
Do not tell your boss to "Take this job and shove it". This will result in you getting fired and not getting a good work reference. When applying to a new job your potential employer will find out and not hire you.
You say to yourself "Well which job is better?" or "Do I care about pay or how my boss treats me?"
To "tell off" his boss and quit his job
no
Not at all.
The best relationship would be to have your boss as a mentor or coach, teaching you things that help you do your job better and advance in your career.
1. They have to convince you, their boss, and themselves that they can do their job better than anyone. 2. If they follow your advice and it is wrong, it is them that get blamed, not you. 3. They got the boss job by being mean, so why change? 4. They got the boss job because they were good at doing what you do, not because they are a good boss. 5. If they were a good boss, they would have been promoted, and some lousy boss would take their place.
He will be praising you on what a great job you are doing, giving you a raise, promoting you, or all of the above.
I'm guessing to tell the boss about you before you get interviewed. I gave it my best shot. lol.
Some things a worker would ask their boss for could be: a raise, time off, better benefits, a job promotion, etc.
