if you wanna tell your parents you are emo. you'd better tell them once you turn into one. First you should confront your most sensative, overprotective parent... most likely your mother. tell her easily. " mom i want to be who i want to be. you just gotta accept it. i am emo." if your mom dosent accept that DO NOT BREAK OUT AND CRY... tell her the next few days " mom i know you do not accept me for who i am but you have to get used to it. i am the one who controls my life and how i look." then leave. i have a feeling she will be touched and let you... next confront your father... just tell him "dad i know you will not like who i am going to be but you have to get used to it i control my life and i am the only one who can!"
tldr; They already know.
You can start by expressing your feelings honestly and openly with your parents. Let them know what being "emo" means to you and why it's important. Make sure to listen to their perspective as well and have an open conversation about it.
IN addition:
If you're truly emo and your parents don't even see it at all, then they obviously don't know what emo is and they wouldn't know what to do. It shouldn't be something you have to tell your parents, it should be something that your parents would already know.
You don't tell them. My mom asked me if I was emo and I said yes and then she made me see a some person to talk about my feelings. But I am still emo.
Get it right.Emo is not a type of person. Emo is a type of music and clothing. If you call yourself emo, you need to get a life. Stereotypes are annoying. If you feel the need to tell your parents what style you wear and such, tell them that. Don't call youself emo. Your not a band, and your not a pair of pants. If you cut, I would tell them. Cause cutting doesn't solve anything (I support TWLOHA). Anyways, don't call yourself emo.Another Answer
First of all, I say that you can call yourself whatever you want. My parents know that I'm different. I don't listen to the typical music or dress like everyone else. If you changed-and I know you did bcause no 2 yrs old is 'emo'-then your parents will have noticed and they know something's up-even if they don't know what exactly. My parents don't talk to me about it but if your parents notice and ask you; then say, "I just fit into this certain crowd of people-emo I think." And if they consider taking you to a shrink, then go, but tell them they're wasting money.
Yet another answer
Be yourself. Emo is probably the most ridiculious 'style' I've probably ever seen. No offence. Quit claiming to be emo. Your not. Just because you cut yourself for instence that automatically makes you emo ? No.
Yes, there are Black individuals who are part of the emo subculture. Emo is characterized by a particular style of fashion, music, and emotional expression, and people of all races and backgrounds can identify with it.
Emo in Japanese is エモ (emo).
No, liking the color black does not necessarily mean someone is emo. Emo is a specific subculture that encompasses a certain style, music taste, and attitude, beyond just liking the color black. Personal style preferences do not always indicate identity with a particular subculture.
The word "emo" is the same in German.
Emo cartoons are often referred to as "emo anime" or "emo animated series." They typically feature dark and emotional themes, complex characters, and unique art styles that resonate with the emo subculture. Some popular examples include "Death Note," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," and "Invader Zim."
dont just come up to your parent and say i want to be emo just start out slow start dressing emo and listening to emo music your parents will most likely not like it at first but they will grow used to it but never come out to your parents and say your emo cause must parents dont react well to this
I doubt any parents would want their child to be emo, so you don't have to worry about that part. The best thing to do is to sit your parents down and tell them about it. They'll help you and eventually you'll feel much better. :)
Your parents probably don't know what emo is. If they do, tell them that if they don't let you let your feelings out, you'll be afraid to show emotion.
if you are emo you are highly depressed.
you slowly drop hints
Listen to your parents, for now. Emo-ish hair looks really silly - even your best friends won't tell you. There are better ways to demonstrate your individuality, trust me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ get a fringe E.g. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/212/492617408_05eb12ab9b.jpg
well, first you have to start off slow..listen to music and do other stuff. Then you gotta slowly put on makeup, not too much or they will suspect it. Another thing to do is that when you dress up for school make sure you put on makeup when your parents leave. Then when you get home you take a quick shower and remove all emoness. Soon enough you will end your emo phase but if you want to tell your parents and they accept it... it is ok. but it takes a lot to tell your parents. So when your parents get home you look likst a preppy person your NOT.
Well, you need to tell them that it's simply a way you dress and that you have a right to dress the way you feel (but try and say it nicely). Also, you should ask them why they don't want you to be emo, and perhaps find a way to compromise. Usually parents have the best intention, so finding out what their reasons is always a best way to start. Hope that helps you :)
Their parents usually don't know about it...
Ok, I am emo and just recently got a so called emo hair cut. I just showed the hairdresser a pic of an emo girl with an emo hair cut!
actually they do because i am emo and my mom thinks i am cultic because parents go to phsyciatrists and get brain washed
this phrase helped me alot emo is not cutting your wrists or always being sad or wanting to kill emo is emotional emo is being yourself to tell you the truth emo is a music genre so next time when you talk about emo learn what emo is first
